Dog Shelter with Veterinary Facilities

The aim of this diploma thesis is the design of this closed area of the shelter dogs with veterinary facilities and administration shelter in a specific location in the outskirts of Bystřice pod Hostýnem, street Meziříčská. It is a building amenities. In addition to the project itself is part of the job specialization - health and technical installations and connections. The work was developed in response to a bachelor thesis. The intention is to create a functional device with everyday hour, which will be provided by 7 employees. Given that the region is not represented such a device, its implementation will meet the requirements and demands of citizens of the town but also surrounding communities. The capacity of the shelter is designed based on the client's requirements with the possibility of placing domestic animals in max. Of 50 dogs, 50 cats and 16 small animals. Unless capacity is full, the device can be used as an animal hotel. In its own proposal, the emphasis was on the overall architectural character and design solutions. Bachelor thesis was aimed on the behavior of dogs in shelters in Bzenec region. The behavior of dogs during urination was investigated. Whether they were urinated individually or in succession, what the urination was accompanied, and how long the marking was repeated. The observation took place in pairs for 3 days, each day taking 10 minutes. In the first part, the thesis describes the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal gland axis. Another part of the thesis is focused on observation and evaluation of urination in dogs from the shelter.

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to observe the behavior of dogs from the shelter in Pístovice during urination. Another goal was to find out what behavior most commonly occurs in dogs in the shelter. Females were urinated with higher-lifted legs less frequently than males. Dogs scrabbled after urination more often than females. The length of stay in the shelter affected the sniffing of the area before urination. It is clear from the results that many factors influence the behavior of dogs during urination. The most common behavior among dogs in the shelter was fearfulness.

This bachelor thesis is focused on animal rights and animal cruelty. The main goal was to document a current situation in enviromental-ethical context, including the legislation in the Czech Republic and in the World. The comparative method was used to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of specific facilities which cares of dogs (a dog shelter and a hospice for dogs). The results showed that the hospice for dogs takes better care of dogs and there is more personal attitude toward them from the ethical point of view. The results also proved that the legislation related to animals in the Czech Republic is appropriate.

Adéla Odvárková Carers for abandoned animals as a specific type of volunteers: the influence of the relationship with the animals on the construction of identity Abstract This thesis deals with voluntary carers for abandoned animals in the shelter and theconstruction of their identity in animal-interaction context. In the theoretical part, the author relies on the theory of constructing the identity of the animal's role in sociology and in our society. This thesis processes seven qualitative interviews with people who care for abandoned animals within specific organizations. The practical part is, except for introducing the institution and consultants, focused on the data analysis. The caregiver's relationship with animals began to form during childhood and further tightened through their help abandoned animals. This relationship had an impact that they decided to fully focus on taking care of animals in a particular shelter. This expirience was the reason to create new abilities and attitudes that are necessary for doing this work effectively. Aspecially emotional detachment and accepting the fact that you cannot save every animal. Digital marketing of animal shelters.

The purpose of this thesis is to create a concept of digital communication for nonprofit organisations like animal shelters. These organisations struggle with lack of money, people and capacity and do not utilize the potential of digital marketing. The proposed strategy should help them to mitigate the impact of those problems and also to fulfill the objectives of the organisation at a minimal budget.
Problematic behaviour in shelter dogs

The aim was to create the most comprehensive scientific literature review on the topic of problematic dog behavior in the shelters. The work defines physiological and psychological needs of the dog and its natural behavior. There is described the influence of stress, most frequented causes and consequences and different types of behavior problems, which we can meet in dogshelters. Further are the factors that influence the behavior of the dog in the shelter, and the factors that increase the chance of a dog to be adopted. This chapter describes the issue of overpopulation of dogs in the world and castration and sterilization programs to control animal population. The next part deals with the possible problems that may occur after the dog is adopted by new owner, especially if the owner already have other dogs or children. The final part of the review focuses on euthanasia, which is compared to the situation in the Czech Republic and abroad. Problems that may occur after the adoption of a dog from a shelter can be prevented by choosing a suitable dog due of the physical and time schedule of the owner and his experiences with dogs.

Přemysl Pitter - The Life for Others. Ethical-social Aspects of Historical Profiling his Life and Work

The work deals with the life and work of Přemysl Pitter, major Czech Christian humanist, representativ of the social learning, education and journalism in the 20th - 70s of the twentieth century. Introductory chapters are devoted to his childhood and youth, especially his personal reflection of the suffering experienced at the frontline on the 1st World War, which influenced his future life guidance and practical activities. Other parts of the document is characterized Pitter{\crq}s destiny and social work for others - the poor, downtrodden, necessary - in the context of the radical social and political changes in the last century. Here is a somewhat more comprehensive text on the history of the fight to save children from a concentration camps and detention camps, after World War II, ie between 1945 - 1947. The last section describes the life and operation of Přemysl Pitter after retirement emigration in 1951, when the World Council of Churches delegated the duty of pastoral and social services for refugees in the camp Valka in Nuremberg in Germany until its repeal in 1962. The final chapter describes the staying and creative activity Pitter{\crq}s exile in Switzerland in the 60s and 70s. The work includes a brief summary of the contents of archival material and archives of Přemysl Pitter and Olga Fierzová in PMJAK in Prague.
